Biological Activities on Geopolymeric and Ordinary Concretes

چکیده
The primary purpose of the review is to describe biological growth and its effects on goepolymeric ordinary concrete surfaces. As ages, surface alkalinity wears off by carbonation weathering, thus prepares a suitable environment for growth. Micro-organisms such as algae, fungi various types bacteria start accumulate subsequently penetrate into micro-cracks structures, resulting in bursting stresses that can increase size cracks may lead spalling. Despite natural resistance structures against early periods, anti-bacterial additives later.

Introduction: The present study aimed to evaluate the impact of PbO nano and micro-sized fillers on ordinary and heavy concretes for different photon energies. Material and Methods: The MCNPX Monte Carlo code (version 2.6.0) was used for all simulations in the present study. A model of narrow-beam geometry was validated and utilized to calcul...
متن کاملEffect of Lime Stone Dust on Geopolymerisation and Geopolymeric Structure
In this paper, synthesis of geopolymer from fly ash with sodium hydroxide as activator was studied. Fly ash was replaced by Lime stone dust in various proportions (10% and 15%) where Fly ash was used as source material for synthesis of geopolymer. Sodium silicate (Na2SiO3) and sodium hydroxide (NaOH) solutions were mixed maintaining a silicate modulus (Na2O / SiO2) at 1. Scanning electron micro...

most active with MICs (μg/ml) against B. subtilis (1-2), MRSA (2-4), M. catarrhalis (4) and VRE (2-64). Effects on macromolecular synthesis and membrane functions were tested in B. subtilis. Pyrone I nonspecifically inhibited incorporation of radiolabeled precursors into DNA, RNA and protein within 5 minutes of drug exposure, similar to that of triclosan. Both compounds also inhibited the cellu...
